The weeks are really speeding by even though it still feels like the year just started. This weekend I made some ears for fran cat, but I'll try to keep making more. I want to do a tail too but I'd like to get some wire for that. I keep going back and forth on whether or not minis are worth it or not. I think they just need to have big heads.
I uploaded progress pics of his faceup [moved link]. I could have put them in the doll gallery but I've broken it a little and I would rather make new pages than fix the ones that really need some help! Anyway, playing with DDs is fun in a different way than BJDs. Also, it's 2024. Can we please stop calling all articulated dolls BJDs?! It's a specific form of engineering and not a signifier for quality, artistic merit, or even style... Let's instead use MJD for vinyl anime dolls.
In other news, I recently became a year older. It was one of the loveliest birthdays I've had in a while. I received some really nice art of my dolls which deserves to be displayed properly, so I'm not just going to stick them under a diary entry! One of my coworkers even sent me a miniature kit. I haven't started yet, but I'm really looking forward to doing it. Also, me and my friends went out for dinner, and the next day we went to a park and looked at plants. It was so pleasant that I started to feel sad because times like that so quickly become just memories. Of course it's wonderful to be able to look back on things fondly, but for whatever reason everything feels very temporary right now. Well, I still really had a good time! Birthdays don't have to be spent alone just because you're older and you've already had so many. But even if that's how my next birthday turns out, I hope I'm surrounded by a ton of catboy dolls.
If anyone has any good doll names they'd like to share, my inbox is open. It's always open.
