After several months of preparation and aspiring to do something ambitious and then ultimately settling on something manageable, Sascha and Marmeladov are married! It felt like a good time and I had time and energy for it, so it's finally done. Honeybear King was the officiant. You can't see him but please trust that he was there.

The boys were a little nervous so they gave me a bit of a hard time. But the photos turned out the way I wanted to, I had a lot of fun. I've fallen in love with them all over again!! I took quite a few photos so I think I'll make a separate proper page for the event.

Haupia showed up halfway through the ceremony in her pajamas to assert dominance and remind her gay dads that as the oldest of the three, she's the one in charge and can bring home as many boyfriends as she wants. She then proceeded to marry herself.

Actually, spending time to really concentrate on taking photos of my dolls and express their personalities gave me a slightly different perception of their characters. Sascha is a little playful, and if I had the ability to, I would certainly make him a little taller! Marmeladov is more serious and mature. I hope when I'm more confident in my abilities, I can redo their faceups to match. Haupia makes the rules. Always have, always will. Also, I think maybe the best way to take kiss photos is it just not have their eyes in the shot. It's very offputting when they can only stare off into the distance behind their lover.

teasing~

It's a very simple setup. I wanted a magical, dreamy atmosphere so I spent a day or two making an arch with fake flowers and craft wood and placed it in front of some fabric pinned to the wall. The arch is a little shitty and not very structurally sound, but it served its purpose. I originally planned on having them stand at the top, but I only have one doll stand, so it was a little hard to keep them stable. They were really falling all over each other! I only used natrual light from the window, which made the photos a little too dark, but with some editing, I think it maintains the mood I was going for.

doll boxes have so many uses!! you really shouldn't ever throw them out!

I really enjoyed doing everything. I didn't catch a vanity date, but March 25 is still a pretty date to look at, and I didn't have to rush anything. I want to do things like this more often instead of quick photos here and there. And I'll certainly try to make an effort to celebrate their anniversary every year. Maybe next time I'll actually have rings for them, dress them in head-to-toe Freedom Teller, and have little chairs for all of my Kinoko Juice girls and honeybears so they can come and watch.

Happy first Gay Wedding Day! ...What about lastnames?!
